01 β€” Our Mission

Nigeria has the people.
We provide the infrastructure.

CARE AFRICA exists because Nigeria's social infrastructure has not kept pace with its population. With 220 million citizens, 774 local government areas and one of the world's most linguistically diverse societies, no single solution β€” digital or physical β€” has yet connected communities to services at scale.

We are building that connection. Our platform combines on-the-ground Community Hubs with an AI-powered digital layer β€” a unified system that registers mothers, tracks school attendance, monitors crop yields, connects farmers to markets, and puts verified data in the hands of local government.

Founded and led by Nigerians, funded transparently, and governed with communities β€” not over them.

"Infrastructure is not a luxury. It is the difference between a life of dignity and one of survival."

β€” CARE AFRICA Founding Charter, 2024

02 β€” Our 6 Pillars

Six systems. One platform.

Each pillar is a fully integrated programme β€” but they share data, share infrastructure and share outcomes. That integration is what makes CARE AFRICA different from any single-sector NGO.

πŸ—οΈ

Infrastructure

We build Community Hubs β€” physical and digital nerve centres in every LGA, equipped with solar power, internet access, maternal suites, and agricultural storage.

πŸ₯

Health

Maternal health tracking, antenatal registration, child immunisation records, and telemedicine access β€” all through one unified digital platform.

πŸ“š

Education

Connected schools, child sponsorship, digital literacy programmes, and verified attendance tracking for every enrolled learner.

🌾

Agriculture

Farmer registration, cooperative management, market price alerts, and food security monitoring β€” reducing post-harvest losses by up to 40%.

🀝

Community

Skills registers, local governance tools, inter-community coordination, and a 22-language AI interface so every citizen can participate.

πŸ“Š

Transparency

Every naira of public and donor funding is publicly tracked. Real-time dashboards for communities, auditors and government partners.

03 β€” Our Values

What we believe

01

Dignity First

Every programme is designed around the dignity and agency of the communities we serve β€” never top-down, always co-created with local leaders and residents.

02

Radical Transparency

We publish our financials, impact data and programme outcomes publicly. Accountability is not optional β€” it is the foundation of everything we do.

03

Technological Equity

Technology should serve the rural farmer and the urban professional equally. We build for low-bandwidth, multilingual, offline-first environments.

04

Long-Term Thinking

We are not an emergency response. We are building permanent infrastructure β€” the kind that lasts 50 years, not one funding cycle.

05

Partnership Over Dependency

We work alongside communities, governments and civil society β€” never replacing them. Our goal is to make ourselves redundant.

04 β€” The Problem We're Solving

The scale of what's broken

These are not abstract statistics. They are the reason CARE AFRICA exists β€” and the benchmark against which we measure our work.

40,000+
Nigerian women die in childbirth each year
WHO 2023 β€” the second highest maternal mortality rate in the world
20.2M
out-of-school children in Nigeria
UNICEF β€” the largest population of out-of-school children globally
133M
Nigerians living in multidimensional poverty
NBS 2022 β€” 63% of the total population
40%
of harvested food lost post-harvest
FAO β€” due to poor storage, spoilage and broken market access
774
LGAs with no integrated data system
Government services remain siloed, duplicated and unmeasured
22+
languages β€” most without digital tools
Millions are excluded from services delivered only in English
