01 — Hub Roles for Corps Members
Six streams. One year. Real impact.
Corps members are placed in roles matched to their degree and career interests. All placements are structured, supervised, and evaluated monthly.
Health & Community Health
Corps members support CHWs in antenatal visits, immunisation drives, health education, and danger sign training. Health-stream graduates may assist at hub clinics under supervision.
Education & Teaching
Education-stream corps members are deployed to CARE AFRICA Smart Schools — teaching primary and secondary classes, supporting digital attendance management, and mentoring pupils.
Agriculture & Food Security
Agriculture graduates support community farm registration, soil testing, irrigation maintenance, harvest logging, and cooperative management at hub farms.
Community Development
Social science and humanities graduates support Community Development Committees, grievance system management, youth council activities, and community data collection.
Technology & Digital
IT and engineering graduates support hub technology maintenance, digital skills training for community members, and platform onboarding for schools and businesses.
Monitoring & Evaluation
Statistics, economics, and public policy graduates support CARE AFRICA's M&E team — collecting data, verifying impact indicators, and contributing to programme reports.

Every CARE AFRICA corps member receives a defined role description, a line manager, and a monthly workplan. No wasted months — every week has purpose and outcome.
CARE AFRICA Skills Certificate
On successful completion of the service year, corps members receive a CARE AFRICA Certificate of Service — recognised by our employer network and valid for scholarship applications.
Mentorship & Professional Development
Corps members are enrolled in the CARE AFRICA Youth Mentorship programme — with access to a professional mentor, monthly skills workshops, and career coaching sessions.
Post-NYSC Career Support
Top-rated corps members are referred to CARE AFRICA partner employers and social enterprises. Many go on to full-time roles within the CARE AFRICA network or its ecosystem partners.
03 — How to Request Hub Deployment
Four steps to your CARE AFRICA placement
Apply Before Camp
Submit your preferred state and role stream through the CARE AFRICA NYSC portal before mobilisation. Early applications receive priority placement.
Hub Match
CARE AFRICA matches your degree, skills, and location preference to the most suitable Smart Hub. You receive your hub assignment within 5 days of camp completion.
Induction
A 2-day induction at the hub — team introductions, role briefing, workplan development, and community orientation. You hit the ground running from Day 3.
Monthly Reviews
Monthly performance reviews, quarterly reports submitted to NYSC, and an end-of-year assessment for your CARE AFRICA Skills Certificate.
